Bio: I live in Bristol, England and work as a self-employed counsellor and supervisor. I am a BACP senior accredited counsellor and supervisor of both groups and individuals. In 1997 I started to become actively involved in the Independent Practitioners Network (IPN) and was one of those who founded Western Valleys, which became a Member Group of IPN in 2001. I have continued in IPN and the Western Valleys Group ever since. In 2008 I was a founder member of the Alliance for Counselling and Psychotherapy, a grassroots organisation originally set up to challenge the regulation of counselling and psychotherapy by the Health Professions Council (HPC), now the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This campaign was successful.
